I bought my Corty on the 3rd of July 1994.

It is a November 1966 model. When I bought it, it was just a shell in undercoat with some interior in it. The undercoat had been on the car for a few years so it was rock hard and rust had begun to form under the undercoat. The car had to be rubbed back to bare metal and was painted in white 2pack paint with my design of two Ford blue stripes over the top of the beast from front to back.

The motor is a modified escort 711M engine.

It has been balanced, lightened, and much more without going overboard as it is still street driven. The laws in Queensland, Aust. make it fairly difficult to do a lot of modifications to your car. My corty is only just legal and gets a lot of POLICE attention! I cannot tell you all of the engine mods as they are a secret from other competitors.

The car has been modified using mostly 60's technology so that it is still eligible for historic racing. I can tell you that it has approx. 100 h.p. at the rear wheels.

The gearbox is a close ratio four speed which my mechanic and I spent quite a few hours rebuilding after finding a problem with it.(It would not stay in 4th gear)

The suspension has been modified using special front springs and strutts and the rear leaves have been modified to be lower and stiffer.

The wheels that I have finally managed to save up for are 15inch Performance Superlights (copies of the original minilight) with Pirelli tyres.

I have raced it once in a sprint called the LEYBURN SPRINTS. I came second in my class, missing out on first place by 0.09 of a second.

I did not have the new wheels when I raced it but I think they'll help me go a bit quicker next time!

This is my engine bay approx.2 months ago. This is as 'The Beast' is now.

This is a sticker I had on the car for a while!
